Except Les Mis was an awesome adaptation of the musical. I think it'd have to be about 10 hours long to give the book justice.
I unfortunately haven’t read the book yet but I have seen two of the movie versions and I liked them pretty well. I haven’t seen it as a musical before this either. I’ve never enjoyed musicals. It was as I expected: unbearably maudlin. I hate musicals even more now.
SRS is a circlejerk in itself, that’s the very definition of the subreddit. There’s more informative discussion in srsdiscussion or srsmeta, but SRS is the main force in pointing out cissexism, racism, sexism, etc.
Hmmm gotcha. The downvotes are upvotes thing really confused me. I will keep reading and keep the circlejerk thing in mind until I start to get it.

I’ve had peek over there and I am curious about something. Why does everyone hate them so much? I’ve read some posts and they’re things I agree with a lot (like the post on how sexualized Good Girl Gina is, THANK YOU) but I don’t understand why everyone complains about them. Is there something I’m missing?

Edit: Also lots of racists saying that being called a racist is a “silencing tactic” so people don’t have to listen to their legitimate, scientific arguments about white superiority. siiiigghhhh
